I fully agree with Antoinette Vella (The Sunday Times, August 7) regarding the removal of the old 40 bus which used to go directly from Attard to Valletta, via Birkirkara and Msida. This bus has now been replaced by No. 106 which departs from Ta’ Qali passing through Attard, Balzan centre and directly to Mater Dei Hospital where passengers have to board another bus to get to Msida and Valletta.

Those who live in the centre of Balzan now have to either walk to Naxxar Road to get bus No. 41, 42 or 43, or else walk up to the Rabat Road, to get bus No. 51, 52 or 53 (buses from Rabat, Dingli, Mtarfa) that go directly toValletta.

I hope that when Arriva revises its routes, it will take Balzan residents into consideration by giving us back a direct service to Valletta.
