The University of Malta’s Edward de Bono Institute recently hosted a workshop on design research scenarios for the future of Europe.

The workshop was attended by 40 participants, ranging from ordinary citizens to experts. Institute director Prof. Sandra Dingli said: “It was interesting to watch people from different backgrounds and age groups discuss their hopes, fears, concerns and dreams for the future of Europe”.

The institute is one of 29 partners from 30 European countries involved in Cimulact, a Horizon 2020-funded project on this theme that is being coordinated by the Danish Board of Technology Foundation in Copenhagen.

During the Malta workshop the research scenarios used a bottom-up approach and built on previous workshops conducted by the other partners involved in the project. The results will be communicated to the European Commission in December and are expected to influence future policy making.
