Today’s dialogue is with design historian, curator and gallerist Libby Sellers.
Sellers previously worked at the Design Museum in London where she produced exhibitions including the first UK retrospectives of Marc Newson and Peter Saville, a monumental Eileen Gray exhibition and the annual Designer of the Year exhibitions.
Through her eponymous gallery, she has worked with some of the industry’s most critical and progressive designers, commissioning works to sell through curated exhibitions which have been purchased by, among others, the MoMA in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and CNAP in France.
Sellers is a juror on numerous design awards and is often invited to speak internationally. She has also authored two publications on the cultures of collecting design. In 2014 she was honoured by the Women of the Year awards as a Woman of Achievement in the Arts.
