Demi Moore is seeking professional help to treat her exhaustion and improve her health.

Her publicist Carrie Gordon said the decision is due to the stresses in Ms Moore’s life, and she looks forward to getting well.

Ms Gordon did not release any other details about the nature or location of Ms Moore’s treatment.

But gossip website TMZ.com reported that Ms Moore – who recently split from her husband Ashton Kutcher – was taken to a Los Angeles hospital around 10.45 p.m. on Monday, claiming substance abuse as the issue.

The past few months have been rocky for Ms Moore.

She released a statement in November announcing she had decided to end her marriage to Ashton Kutcher following news of alleged infidelity.

The two were known to publicly share their affection for one another via Twitter. Ms Moore still has a Twitter account under the name mrskutcher but has not posted any messages since January 7.

Ms Moore’s 23-year-old daughter Rumer Willis has reportedly “begged’’ her mother to get help following her dramatic break-up from Mr Kutcher. She has been pictured looking increasingly frail lately. Sources have claimed her daughters with ex-husband Bruce Willis are eager for her to get help in order to ease her turmoil.

“Rumer begged her to consider getting help, but Demi thinks that’s just for drug abusers and alcoholics. Rumer even asked Bruce to intervene as he and Demi are still close,’’ a source told UK magazine Closer.
