Spain coach Vicente del Bosque believes new Real Madrid signing Isco is the “future” of Spanish football.

The 21-year-old was unveiled as a Madrid player yesterday in front of 7,000 fans at the Bernabeu, and has signed a six-year deal with the club, after moving from Malaga for a reported £23 million fee.

The midfielder was one of the stand-out performers in Spain’s recent triumph at the European Under-21 Championship in Israel but has appeared just once for his country’s first team, coming on as a substitute in a friendly against Uruguay in Qatar last February.

Del Bosque has assured fans they can expect to see much more of Isco in the coming years.

“We have a lot of faith pinned upon him, he is the future of our national team,” Del Bosque told Radio Nacional de Espana.
