In the last couple of weeks, La Stella Band of Victoria lost two of its past bandsmen.

I refer to Pasquale Xerri (1932-2016), known among all and sundry simply as Baskal, who hailed from Victoria. He passed away peacefully on Good Friday.

I also have in mind Wenzu Borg (1935-2016) of Sannat, who passed away the day before Easter. He was not only a benefactor of Sannat parish church but also an entrepreneur in the gastronomic sector of his native Gozo.

May God grant them eternal rest.
