On March 8, death visited Charity Street, in Victoria, one of the ancient roads of the town.

Ġużeppa Attard, tal-Penzier, who lived in the street, died in her late 80s after having been housebound for more than a decade.

At the other end of the street, Roża Tabone, ta’ Nisju, passed away at the age of 91. She was in many ways a matriarch, leaving behind her not only her many children – including a Franciscan sister of the Sacred Heart – but also many grandchildren and other relatives too; Joseph Galea, of the L’Isle Adam Band of Rabat and Victory Band of Xagħra, is married to one of her daughters.

Both women were faithful daughers of the Church. May God grant both of them eternal peace!
