The University’s Dean of Science Awards ceremony was held recently on campus.

Awardees and their relatives were invited to the event, which started with a welcome address by the Dean, Prof. Charles Sammut, and a short performance by the Mediterranean Institute Students Quartet.

Sammut congratulated the students nominated this year and others who had shown a marked improvement. He encouraged them to have confidence in themselves and their capabilities.

He said University students should be thankful for having access to a first class tertiary education, made possible by outstand-ing academics, supported by administrative and technical staff.

The Dean concluded by thanking the administrative staff of the Faculty Office.

The students who received the awards were Mark Bajada, John Gabarretta, Fabian Micallef, Bernard Brincat, Denis Cutajar, Christine Farrugia, Nadya Galea, Justine Gauci, Mark Debono, Andrew Mifsud and Marika Sciriha.

Mifsud and Sciriha jointly won the BoV Prize for Science.
