Oscar de la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions has signed 2012 Olympic bronze medallist Anthony Ogogo and expects the British middleweight to make his pro ring debut in early 2013.

“Anthony Ogogo has everything you look for in a boxer,” said Richard Schaefer, chief executive of Golden Boy Promotions.

“He can fight, he has style and charisma and he has amazing crossover potential.

“I have no doubt that Anthony Ogogo has the skills in the boxing ring and the personality outside of it to make him a global boxing star.”

Ogogo beat Ukrainian world champion Ievgen Khytrov in the last 16 en route to the final four at the London Games.

But he settled for bronze after falling 16-9 in the semi-finals to Brazil’s Esquiva Falcao.
