The Nationalist Party deputy leader Mario de Marco on Tuesday successfully underwent surgery to remove a benign tumor located along a facial nerve.

The Nationalist Party said the surgical intervention took place at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London.

Dr de Marco will resume his professional and political duties in a few weeks’ time, the PN said.

The Labour Party, Speaker Anġlu Farrugia and MPs wished him a speedy recovery.
