De La Salle College primary school, Cottonera, recently held its annual Unesco exhibition, an annual event that the Brothers began in the 1970s.

Exhibits by the younger students centred on cartoon characters, the underwater world, different countries and Malta’s national heritage, while the older students tackled health and safety issues and Chemistry topics.

The event encourages students to take responsibility for their learning and to be creative, and at the same time strengthens links between school and home.

The students explained their projects to visitors and parents, and the school was vibrant with movement and enthusiasm.

The exhibition was opened by Valerie Sollars, dean of the University’s Education Faculty, who remarked that such an exhibition could only take place thanks to the dedication and contribution of students, parents, teachers and learning support assistants, adding that one needs to appreciate all the hours of work that is carried out behind the scenes.
