Nationalist MEP candidate Kevin Plumpton is calling on the government to make Dar Malta in Brussels available for private companies wishing to tap European funds.

Speaking during a round table discussion held yesterday by the European Parliament Office, he said the strategically-located building in the heart of the EU capital was underutilised.

Mr Plumpton said the presence of the Maltese Business Bureau in Brussels would be of great help to the local business community.

He also proposed the creation of an agency that would be solely responsible for managing EU funds and co-financed projects.
