Dannii Minogue says she is “over the moon” after being crowned TV Personality of the Year – despite her exit from The X Factor.

The Australian judge, 39, who had to quit the ITV1 show after learning that the auditions schedule clashed with her work on Australia’s Got Talent, won the accolade at Tuesday night’s Glamour Women of the Year event.

The mother-of-one, who recently played down rumours of a split with boyfriend Kris Smith, accepted the honour in a video acceptance speech.

Later she wrote on Twitter: “Over the moon to receive TV Personality award for third time from readers of @GlamourMagUK. Icing on the cake for doing something I love! Dx.”

Two minutes later she added that her last year on The X Factor had been “magical” with one of her acts, Matt Cardle, winning the 2010 show.

The bash, hosted by actor James Corden, also saw Sarah Burton, who created the ivory wedding gown worn by the Duchess of Cambridge at April’s royal wedding, win Designer of the Year.

Ms Burton, who is Alexander McQueen’s creative director, also created Pippa Middleton’s dress, which prompted admiration for the maid of honour’s slinky silhouette, particularly her posterior.

Big Brother-turned-Million Po-und Drop host Davina McCall won Presenter of the Year, with the award presented to her by Dermot O’Leary.

Singer Adele, who has dominated both the US and British charts, was named UK Solo Artist of the Year.

Pregnant singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham was named Accessory Designer of the Year.

Film Actress of the Year went to former Bond girl Gemma Arterton while Jonathan Ross’s wife, screenwriter and producer Jane Goldman, took Filmmaker of the Year.

Outstanding Contribution went to Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Nicks, singer Jessie J was crowned Woman of Tomorrow, Kim Kardashian was Entrepreneur of the Year, and Miranda Hart was Comedy Actress of the Year.

Pandora Breakthrough of the Year was won by Ellie Goulding, Writer of the Year went to actress, writer and comedienne Dawn French, and Band of the Year was The Saturdays. The awards, the result of over 100,000 votes, took place at London’s Berkeley Square Gardens.

Former Big Brother host McCall may have been an award-winner, but it was her husband’s name that was on everyone’s lips.

A string of celebrities joked on stage that they had bedded Matthew Robertson, after Dermot O’Leary recalled McCall boasting about her sex life.

Mr O’Leary, who worked with McCall on Big Brother, said she would arrive at work and tell him that she’d had great sex with her husband, the former Pet Rescue presenter, the previous night.

New X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos was also at the bash, and said of her new TV job: “I’m really trying to enjoy it and be myself. I’m trying to let go of my nerves. It was scary initially. It’s a lot of pressure. It’s the most famous TV show in the country but I’m now feeling relaxed.

“Cheryl Cole sent me flowers which was a really nice gesture.”

Ms Beckham accepted her award in a video message, and said: “I’m waiting to have our baby girl. I’m very excited. Have a drink for me. I look forward to coming back to England very soon.”

TV presenter Lorraine Kelly turned up at the ceremony in what appeared to be a sheer black lace dress.

The presenter said: “It looks very revealing but it’s not. It’s all an optical illusion.”
