Another accident waiting to happen is near the tunnels leading from Paceville to Swieqi. There is a sign there with a speed limit of five kilometres per hour but this is almost completely covered with bushes and the way drivers speed into the tunnels is scary, to say the least.

The area is frequented by many people, including students who attend the several language schools nearby.

Apart from the tunnels, it is also dangerous to cross to the opposite side and walk up in the direction of St Julians. The white line that is painted on the road offers little protection.

Barriers to help protect pedestrians should be erected as soon as possible and not when some nasty accident takes place, as is usually the case on this island.
