A dance summer school will be held in Għarb in September.

Entitled ‘Living Dance 2011’, the workshop will feature intensive courses in ballet, repertoire, jazz, contemporary, African gum-boot dancing, hip hop and pilates.

Advanced students will be introduced to some new approaches to dance and choreography through a more contemporary style dealing with focus, use of space, intention and group work.

Emma Loftus, Mary Jane Bellia and Jason Fabri will be joined by three guest tutors: Wendy Green, examiner with the Royal Academy of Dance and internationaltutor will be teaching ballet;contemporary will be in the hands of Sandra Mifsud and Douglas Comley, who will introduce students to a different style of dance with African gum-boot dancing.

All residential students will have meals on site and evening activities will be organised.

Living Dance is also joining forces with The Soap Cafe. Bath Bomb workshops will be offered to all students and this will teach them how to make their own bathe fizzes using natural products and essential oils.

Soap maker Charlene Mercieca will teach this skill to students.Living Dance 2011will be held in Għarb, between September 12 and 17. The course is being offered to both residential and non-residential students from the age of 10 to adult.

There will also be a junior course for those aged between seven and nine. A scholarship to a dance school in the UK will be awarded to the most promising dancer.
