Cycling is a healthy and green way of getting around but on Car Free Day it will also be a way of helping disabled children through a fundraising marathon organised by Inspire foundation.

The fundraiser, entitled Cycling For A Cleaner Future, is aimed at raising awareness of the environment by encouraging people to reduce their carbon footprint in a healthy way and also raise funds for Inspire.

It will be held as part of the national Car Free Day activities on September 18.

It may not be another marathon Lifecycle but cyclists will still have some way to pedal. The bike ride starts at 9 a.m. from two venues: Ta’ Qali centre and Inspire in Marsascala and the two groups will converge at Pjazza Tigné at Tigné Point in Sliema.

Entry will be by donation of €10 to Inspire. Children under 12 can pay €5.

Applications forms can be collected from all outlets at The Point or by calling Inspire on 2189 0000 or to anna.vella@inspire.org.mt.
