NGO Inspire is organising a fun cycle for charity as part of the National Car Free Day activities next Sunday.

The event encourages people to reduce their carbon footprint in a healthy way

The event is intended to increase awareness of the environment by encouraging people to reduce their carbon footprint in a healthy way, as well as raise funds for the less fortunate at Inspire.

The event is being held in collaboration with The Point Shopping Mall, Tigné Point, the Parliamentary Secretariat for the Environment and Culture, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Local Councils, and the Malta Environment and Planning Authority.

The Cycling for a Cleaner Future event will see cyclists ride en masse from two locations and meet at the same destination.

The mass bike ride starts at 9 a.m. from Ta’ Qali centre and Inspire in Marsascala before meeting at Pjazza Tigné, Sliema.

Participants will need to give a donation of €10 to Inspire (for children under 12, donation of €5).

Inspire, the Foundation for Inclusion, supports the local community by helping to enhance the quality of lives of thousands of disabled people through professional services including therapeutic, educational, recreational and inclusive programmes.

The foundation depends largely on fundraising and volunteers to continue providing professional services to people with disabilities – at heavily subsidised fees or free of charge.

Application forms are available from all outlets at The Point Shopping Mall, Tigné Point. Call Inspire on 2189 0000, e-mail anna.vella@inspire.org.mt or visit www.inspire.org.mt for more information.

Applications should be received by Friday.
