A series of daily video-spots focusing on Malta’s cultural heritage will be broadcast on TVM and TVM2, thanks to an agreement between Fimbank plc and Public Broadcasting Services Ltd (PBS).

The series of 48 videos, the production of which is also being sponsored by the bank, will be broadcast between now and 2015.

The videos will focus on little-known facts about specific artefacts, buildings and other unique elements of Malta’s history, art and culture. Many of these are located on sites managed by Heritage Malta or Din l-Art Ħelwa or in locations where heritage NGO Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar is involved.

Commenting on this initiative, Fimbank president Margrith Lütschg-Emmenegger said: “As a Malta-based institution, we feel we owe it to the people of Malta to help raise awareness of the islands’ rich, historic, artistic and cultural heritage. This project is intended to highlight the fact that these islands are a treasure trove of history.”

PBS CEO Anton Attard ex-pressed his satisfaction with this collaboration: “These short and straight-to-the-point features are an innovative way of promoting a greater appreciation of Malta’s heritage. By choosing TVM and TVM2 as a platform for this project, Fimbank has ensured that this educa-tional campaign gets the highest exposure possible.”
