Juan Cuadrado has rejoined Juventus on a three-year loan from Chelsea, who yesterday signed left-back Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina.

Juve announced Cuadrado had joined on loan until June 2019 for an annual fee of €5m, with the option for the deal to be made permanent for €25m. The 28-year-old spent last season on loan with the Turin side.

The terms of the deal take Cuadrado to the end of the four-and-a-half-year contract he signed on joining Chelsea in February 2015.

Alonso and Cuadrado were team-mates for one season at Fiorentina but the Colombia winger returns to Serie A and is back with Juventus on the day Alonso moved to Stamford Bridge.

Alonso, 25, is no stranger to English football, having played for Bolton Wanderers from July 2010 to July 2013. He also spent five months on loan at Sunderland in 2014.

“I’m very happy. It’s a step up in my career and I think this is the perfect place for me to continue developing. It’s time for me to win some titles,” Real Madrid academy graduate Alonso said.

“My family and close friends know Chelsea is the club I have dreamed about playing for so I’m really excited about the challenge.”

Permanent deal

Lazio completed the signing of midfielder Luis Alberto from Liverpool on a permanent deal.

Lazio did not release any details of the deal, but confirmed Alberto had signed along with a picture of the 23-year-old Spaniard completing his medical.

The former Sevilla youngster joined Liverpool in 2013 but struggled to make an impact, with his only two starts for the club coming in cup competitions as he was limited to nine substitute appearances in the Premier League.

He spent 2014/15 on loan at Malaga, where he also struggled for playing time, before a more successful spell with Deportivo La Coruna last season, where he scored six goals in 29 La Liga appearances.
