During the homily at the Mass for young people in Myanmar, Pope Francis urged them to be a witness to Christ: “Cry the Gospel, not with words but with your life”.

The same words were said more than 100 years ago by Blessed Charles de Foucauld who was living among Muslims in Algeria. He urged those who wished to follow Jesus in his footsteps: “Cry the Gospel with your life”.

In fact, religious, priests and lay people who adhere to the spirituality inspired by Blessed Charles, whose death anniversary was on December 1, follow this way.

In our modern society all Christians who want to lead an authentic Christian life are urged  to “Cry the Gospel with their life”.
