The number of cruise liner passengers increased by 68 per cent in the first quarter when compared to the same period last year, according to the latest official statistics.
Twenty-three cruise liners made calls, 10 more than last year. Visitors from the EU accounted for 92.8 per cent of the total, with the main markets being Germany, France and Italy.
The largest share of passengers were aged between 60 and 79 and were followed by those aged between 40 and 59.
