The opening cross country race, valid for the Magri Cycles National Points Series and organised by the Malta Mountain Bike Association, will be held in Miżieb this Sunday.

The race organisers have modified the course from that of the National Championships last winter with the addition of a technical descent and uphill switchbacks in the grove sections.

The circuit now includes a 4.6km loop and will have to be covered six times by the Elite Category riders to finish the race. The women riders will race five laps and the Sport Category four.

The race starts at 8am but participants are urged to be at Miżieb at least 30 minutes before for registration.

The National Points Series will include three other rounds. Race two is scheduled for July 24 with the other two on September 3 and 17.
