An audiovisual competition, entitled ‘What does freedom look and sound like for you?’, is being held by Festivals Malta to mark the 39th anniversary of Freedom Day.
Prospective participants are invited to submit a homemade video filmed and edited exclusively with a mobile phone, portraying a visual and aural interpretation of the meaning of ‘freedom’ today, beyond the celebration of the historical anniversary.
The winner will be chosen on the basis of the video’s concept, creativity and the quality of filming and editing.
The competition is open to the public, barring professionals or regular practitioners in the audiovisual field.
Prizes will be awarded to participants submitting the best three videos. The first prize is €500; the second is €300 and the third €200. The video entries are to be sent by noon on March 22 via WeTransfer or by e-mail on info.fm@festivalsmalta.org. Late applications will not be accepted. For more information e-mail info.fm@festivalsmalta.org or call 2339 7000. Visit www.festivalsmalta.org for the competition’s terms and conditions and to download the application form.
