Triq il-Kurvetti, stretching between Triq il-Belt Valletta and Triq is-Sultana, Paola, is a nightmare for drivers and pedestrians, thanks to its moon-like surface. Sizable potholes and cracks abound everywhere.
Yet our local council prefers to give priority to secondary projects such as the recent twinning project with Paola in Italy and the proposed megaproject for Paola Square. Priorities should never be sacrificed for ambitious projects, however promising.
It is a shame that this street has been left in such a state for so many years by the council, which does not even bother to have it patched up if resurfacing with tarmac is considered a luxury.
