I have just returned from a visit to Malta and had to rely on the bus service. I must admit I was very apprehensive due to the adverse comments which appear daily in The Times.

I found the service excellent. The staff at the information office were very helpful and pleasant, the bus was on time, the driver very polite and smart in his uniform and the air-conditioning system was working... so it was a very comfortable journey.

I thought that Arriva should be praised when they get it right and they certainly did when I was there! I was so impressed that I made use of the service during my stay and they lived up to my expectations. Well done!

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the underground car park at Portomaso. It was a nightmare, like a descent into hell. I wonder who designed it. I never saw anything like it in my life. By the time we arrived at the Hilton, we certainly needed a stiff drink!
