I write on behalf of Dragonara Gaming Limited, operators of the Dragonara Casino, St Julians.

Our client has referred us to the report titled Court Expert Moves To UK, Leaving Security Tapes In Rival Company’s Office, which appeared in timesofmalta.com (July 24) and others that appeared in printed editions and which reported that a number of security tapes entrusted to a certain James Holder, a forensic expert appointed by the court in the criminal proceedings for fraud taken against Fabio Zulian, were left at the Dragonara Casino at the time of Mr Holder’s departure from Malta. Our client, a licensed casino operator regulated under the laws of Malta, has instructed us to submit the following clarifications with a view to correctly explaining its position in the matter to which the mentioned report refers and placing the contents of the same report within their proper context:

1. Our client took over the operation of the Dragonara Casino on June 30, 2010 following the grant of a licence by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority. It was not yet responsible for the running of the casino when Mr Holder was appointed as a court expert.

2. At the time of his appointment, Mr Holder was employed with the previous operator of the casino and formed part of its senior management team. He, however, resigned his post a few weeks following the grant of the Dragonara Casino concession to our clients.

3. Our client was, prior to reading the report, not aware that the security tapes entrusted to Mr Holder were left within the Dragonara Casino. It shall, however, make any such tapes immediately available to the court should these be found on its premises.
