Michael Briguglio will discuss the relationship between different environmentalist perspectives, green politics and society in a course being held over five lectures starting on Monday.

The course will theorise the relationship between the social and the natural from social constructivist and critical realist perspectives and will look into applied theories of the environment such as risk society and postmodernism-poststructuralism.  The course will then discuss different environmentalist/green ideologies such as ecological modernisation, sustainable development, political ecology, eco-socialism, eco-feminism and deep ecology. Finally, the course will discuss the relationship between the environment, self and society.

Lectures, which run from Monday to February 5, are taking place at the Volunteer Centre, 181, Melita Street, Valletta, from 6.30 to 8pm. Payment and registration are to be done on the first day of the course. For more information, send an e-mail to philosophysharingmalta@gmail.com.
