For World Asthma Day, held on May 3, GlaxoSmithKline Malta launched a new and improved website to provide asthma suff-erers and doctors with a useful score that would help determine the level of treatment required.
Asthma is a common and treatable disease that heavily impacts quality of life. Medical experts now agree that the level of asthma control is a key feature when determining the best asthma treatment required. Within Europe, at least 50 per cent of patients have poor control of their asthma, despite the availability of treatments to help manage their condition.
The Asthma Control Test has been conceived by medical asthma experts and scientifically tested on hundreds of asthmatic sufferers.
Some of the new test features include compatibility with any digital device with access to internet, reduced test time, printable results and availability for both children and adults.
GSK contributed to the development of the AsthmaControl Test (www.asthmacontroltest.com). Maltese patients are encouraged to take this online test, which takes less than a minute.
