I have always enjoyed the often balanced and insightful views of Martin Scicluna as presented in the Times of Malta. To say that I am disappointed with his column of May 2 is a huge understatement.
It seems that even a sage like Scicluna in not immune to the Maltese malaise of extreme political bias and tribalism that he himself has often despaired over.
To trivialise the movement for justice as a small group of “unrepresentative” activists causing trouble for Malta and ruining her reputation (my paraphrasing) and to ostensibly dismiss the scandals and corruption that currently rack Malta and are shocking the world, is really contributing to the problem of Malta’s deteriorating world status.
