Problems affecting Gozo’s development, including depopulation, the brain-drain and connectivity with Malta and the rest of Europe, will be some of the issues discussed at a conference on October 28 at 6.30pm at Grand Hotel, Mġarr.

Entitled ‘Gozo’s development within Europe’, the conference is being organised by the Gozo Office of MEP Alfred Sant. It will be addressed among others by Gozo University Group president Maria Dimech, Gozo Business Chamber chairman Joe Grech and Joe Cordina, head of the Maltese delegation at the EU Committee of Regions. Dr Sant will also address the conference. He will speak about the effects of EU policies and rules on Gozo’s double insularity, the need for a study on disparities in the social and economic development levels between Gozo, Malta and the EU, the need for and measures for the gradual but time-framed elimination of these disparities.

The public is invited to attend. No booking is needed. For further information e-mail info@alfredsant.eu or call 2149 0705.
