The Malta Cultural Institute will be presenting its last concert for the 2013/2014 season on June 8 at Le Meridien St Julian’s Hotel & Spa, at 7pm.

The first part of the evening will feature a recital by mezzo-soprano Rita Antida Scicluna and pianist Maria Anna Scicluna. There will also be a recital by two young violinists, Neve Marlene Galea and Francesca Mizzi, accompanied on the piano by Julia Miller. The violinists are being tutored by Lydia Micallef.

The second part of the evening will be in the hands of the Marie Therese Vassallo Voice Studio, who will be presenting a pro-gramme of happy music, full of fun to herald the summer season. The programme will include choral numbers and solos by Marie Therese Vassallo, Vanessa Magro, Miriam Camilleri, Rita Scicluna, Paul Gatt, Joseph Serge and Charles Axiak.

Making a comeback in this concert will be Ray Ritardo, a well-known singer in the musical circles in Malta and abroad in the 1960s and 1970s. He will be accompanied on the piano by Rita Paris, Maria Scicluna and Michael Camilleri.

During the evening, an exhibition of handicrafts will be presented by artist Rita Joyce Scicluna.

A small donation at the door to cover some of the expenses of the evening will be appreciated.
