I was rather pleased to read, in the report on the Pope’s recent meeting with a Gozitan choir (January 8), that the hymn Nadurawk Ja Ħobz tas-Sema has a special meaning for Pope Francis, as he had walked up the aisle for his First Holy Communion to the singing of this hymn.

The reporter states that the hymn is by Dun Karm Psaila. Correctly so, as the words were in fact written by Dun Karm. The reporter does not mention that the music for this hymn was composed by Mro. Giuseppe Caruana, my grandfather.
