The fatal traffic accident on New Year’s Eve made us all feel sad for both the victim and the young driver. My heart goes out to the families of both.

The family of the victim have lost a most beloved son while the family of the driver face the pain of seeing their young son go through one of the most painful episodes which nobody ever wishes upon his child.

I am writing this letter to plead for some sort of act of compassion both from the court and the parents of the victim towards accused.

The sooner the case is over the better chance that he will try and get his life back - probably becoming a much better person after this experience. We who have children know what I’m saying. Our kids do stupid things when they are young and life can be very cruel.

I just hope that, maybe, both sides can come together and, through love and compassion, treat the accident for what it was - a cruel blow to both of them – something which no one on earth should go through.

Nothing was intentional and nobody wished to hurt anyone. I pray for all concerned. Time heals and love wins.
