Hollywood star Tom Hanks found the time for philanthropic acts during his recent filming in Malta to sign a limited number of copies of the book Common Sense in aid of the Richmond Foundation.

The books will now be auctioned to raise funds for the foundation, which advocates community mental health, with bidding starting at €50. With the assistance of the producers and the Malta Film Commission, Hanks, who plays the leading role of an American captain in the film Captain Phillips about the true story of an attack by Somali pirates.

Common Sense – A Better Understanding of Emotional Well-being is a collection of over 60 articles, written by psychologist and psychotherapist Edward Curmi for Pink magazine over the last five years.
