• The 50th Congress of the Holy Name Society is being held at St Laurence parish church, San Lawrenz, today. A concelebrated Mass, led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, will be celebrated at 8.30am. People from Gozo parishes will gather in Nicholas Monsarrat Street at 5pm for celebrations, including the Word of God and a mime, tied to the Year of the Faith. Fr Franco Fenech, OFM Cap., will also address the congress.

• The Gaulitana: A Festival of Music will continue with Spring Feelings in German Song – from Lied to Operetta at the Gozo Ministry in Victoria at 8pm. German soprano Katharina Kagel and Gozitan pianist Stephen Attard will take part.

A Light Vocal Bonanza will be held at the Gozo Ministry on Wednesday at 8pm. Italian singers Fulvia Mastrobuono (soprano) and Dario di Vietri (tenor), together with pianist Davide Dellisanti will take part.

Mastrobuono, di Vietri and Dellisanti will team up again to celebrate Giuseppe Verdi’s 200th birth anniversary with a recital at the Gozo Ministry on Friday at 8pm.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recitation of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.

• Life of Pi will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 6pm.

• The Bethel Charismatic Group will be holding a prayer meeting at Our Lady of Pompeii church, Victoria, on Saturday at 7pm.

• The Diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at St Augustine church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8.30pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• The philanthropy group NiSeis organising its second Kids Walk for Charity at Marsalforn next Sunday at 3pm. Funds for Fr Joseph Camilleri to support his noble mission in Gautemala, where he runs a hospital, will be collected. • The7th edition of Seħer il-Punent Festival by Għarb council will be held over next weekend. The activities will start on Friday with a traditional dinner at Għarb’s main square, featuring folk entertainment. On Saturday, the programme will include a tug-of-war competition, performances by various local groups, a concert – West meets Pop and Movies – by the Għaqda Mużikali Vizitazzjoni, special guests Ġorġ and Pawlu and a concert by the Run Band.

On Sunday, activities start at 9.30am with the production of the largest ġbejna (cheeselet), a motorcycle show and a folk matinee, followed by Carnival in Spring and a dance marathon. Guided tours will be held to Għarb Basilica and the Museum Ecclesia Mater at 3.30pm and 6pm. There will also be the final round of the tug-of-war competition, highlights from the Abba Dance Show and a concert by Cash and Band.

• The exhibition, Colours and Vibrations, by French artist Colette Marchant is being held at the Citadel’s St Ursula Hall, Victoria, today from 11am to 3pm. For more information, call 7984 8990.
