Floriana Young Stars 5
Laferla White Hart 0

Young Stars exerted early pressure on the White Hart rearguard but did not take advantage of three penalty corner awards in the opening 12 minutes.

It took Young Stars 21 minutes to break the deadlock when Edward Hughes pushed home from close range.

Although they dominated proceedings, Young Stars initially struggled to break down the White Hart defence again, the half-time whistle blowing with the score unchanged.

But, on 49 minutes Christian Bonello shot Young Stars 2-0 ahead before Nathan Galea rounded the keeper and slotted home his side’s number three.

On 60 minutes Elton Cutajar made it 4-0 and Galea extended his side’s tally, scoring his second and Young Stars’ fifth just before the final whistle.

Umpires: Manuel Imbroll, Andre Ghio.

Rabat Depiro 2
Qormi Poiatti 7

Qormi went into the lead within the first minute of this one-sided league match when Steve Tanti fired home but Rabat struck back immediately and drew level thanks to Charlot Antonelli.

But Tanti then grabbed his second and on 15 minutes Kyle Micallef hit a delightful reverse hit shot... Qormi never looked back.

Before half-time, Juan Sarcia was also on the mark for Qormi as a result of a penalty corner action.

Three minutes into the second half, John Williams pushed home from close range to extend Qormi’s lead to 5-1 but on 51 minutes Antonelli broke away to grab Rabat’s second goal.

A minute later, Qormi were awarded a penalty stroke and Sarcia made no mistake from the spot.

Late on, Williams completed the rout for Qormi.

Umpires: Raymond Micallef, James Mizzi.
