To many, winter may well be the season of discontent, so Masquerade Theatre Company is all geared up to offer some comic relief this spring.

Following last year’s successful musical concert Simply Webber, Masquerade will now be presenting Comedy Tonight.

This new musical extravaganza puts the focus on songs from popular West End/ Broadway comedy musicals, including Kiss Me Kate, Les Miserables, Wicked, Jesus Christ Superstar, Avenue Q and Oklahoma.

The songs will be interpreted by some of Malta’s finest voices, including Roger Tirazona, Rachel Fabri, Joseph Zammit and Dorothy Bezzina. Other special guests joining this formidable cast are Katherine Brown, Ludwig Galea, Steve Hili and Nadia Vella.

The show will be hosted by actor Malcolm Galea, who will most certainly keep the audience amused.

Producer and artistic director Anthony Bezzina has been driving the entire team to ensure a memorable evening.

“Masquerade has a track record in bringing quality musical performances to Maltese theatres,” he said. “This time round, we wanted to explore new territory – comedy and musicals. But, above all, what makes this show truly authentic is the extraordinary cast itself – a group of disciplined and talented performers who share a genuine and infectious passion for musicals.”

• Comedy Tonight is being performed at the Manoel Theatre on April 12, 13, 20, 21. Tickets may be obtained by calling 2124 6389; sending an e-mail to bookings@teatrumanoel.com.mt; or from www.teatrumanoel.com.mt and www.masquerademalta.com.
