The coaches of Malta’s four clubs in UEFA competitions will be aiming to step up their preparations for their continental assignments in their final matches of the pre-season Euro Cup.

Hibs and Valletta lead the four-team table on four points, followed by Sliema on three. Birkirkara have no points after two games.

Gambian midfielder Hamza Barry, who grabbed Valletta’s winner in the 1-0 defeat of Birkirkara, is expected to make his second appearance for the Whites with coach Mark Miller again expected to rotate his squad for today’s match against Sliema.

For Sliema, Ivan Woods is still recovering from injury while Mark Scerri and Nigerian Stanley Ohawuchi are doubtful.

Birkirkara could have former Valletta striker Demba Toure in their squad for tomorrow’s match against Hibs as the Senegalese is close to agreeing a deal with the Malta champions.

A Spanish defender, Ricardo Jimenez, is also expected to figure after joining Birkirkara for a trial.

Another target for Birkirkara is former Valletta striker Frank Temile who is a free agent after completing his five-year contract with Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev.

Hibs coach Branko Nisevic is not expected to have new faces in his squad for tomorrow’s final Euro Cup match.
