The closure of the European Year of Volunteering is being celebrated with a road show that began last Monday and finishes tomorrow.

This road show has toured Europe and Malta is its last stop.

The week-long event is being staged in a 20 x 20-metre tent at the old bus terminus in Valletta with dedicated special themes daily.

Today’s theme is ‘Social and Humanitarian’ and tomorrow’s theme is ‘Voluntary Award’.

The tent is open from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. and 4 till 9 p.m., with a colourful programme designed for all the family.

The Scouts and Girl Guides will be animating the day, together with Kunsill Malti ghal l-isport. Free tickets for children to museums will be given out.

The Malta Film Commission, in collaboration with the International TV Short Film Festival, will be presenting short films at the event, including films tackling today’s theme. The screenings start at 7.30 p.m.

The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector is overseeing the event.
