In the article titled ‘83-year-old admits hit-and-run in Lija’, Times of Malta reported that George Borg Cardona had stepped down as Industrial Tribunal chairman in January over allegations that he had presented forged medical certificates to a court during a case involving his grandson, who was 17 at the time.
It should be pointed out that a magistrate had asked police to investigate the allegations and no charges were brought against him. Charges were, however, brought against third parties.
