Valletta coach Andre Paus will have to change his central defensive partnership for Saturday’s match against Mosta after Jonat-han Caruana and Luke Dimech were both handed a one-match ban, yesterday.

Caruana and Dimech filled the two centre-half roles in the 3-2 victory over Hibernians on Sunday during which both collected a fourth yellow card that rules them out of the tricky clash with Mosta.

Sliema Wanderers were the worst affected yesterday as three of their players received a one-match ban.

Defender Clifford Gatt Baldac-chino was sanctioned after being sent off in the dying stages of the 1-0 defeat to Balzan while midfielders Paltemio Barbetti and Beppe Muscat were suspended for four yellow cards. The trio have been ruled out of the match against leaders Birkirkara.

Balzan will be without Justin Grioli for Sunday’s match against Hibernians after the right-back was sent off following two bookable offences last weekend.

Floriana midfielder Clyde Borg is out of Saturday’s important Relegation Pool clash with Tarxien Rainbows after being suspended for four yellow cards.

Vittoriosa Stars had two players on the suspensions’ list.

Portuguese midfielder Filipe Agiuar was banned after seeing red in the victory over Floriana while Italian player Leonardo Torri received his fourth yellow card.

The duo will miss Saturday’s game against the already-relegated Rabat Ajax.
