The Church will be celebrating the family in a day-long event under the big tent in Ta’ Qali to mark the occasion of the International Day for the Family today.

The programme kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre with Mass celebrated by Archbishop Paul Cremona, which will be animated by seminarians and students.

Mgr Cremona will be interviewed in the afternoon when he will meet families.

Various activities targeted at children, senior citizens and married couples will be held.

The main event will be a concert with the participation of the Joy Gospel Singers, the band Salt, folk group Greenfields, choir Shalom and another musical ensemble headed by Fr Karm Debattista. The Church said the celebration was intended to raise awareness about the beauty of marriage and the importance of the family.
