A journalist with the Church-run media RTK yesterday claimed she was subjected to political discrimination during the selection process for an editor for the radio station and the online edition.

In her application to the Industrial Tribunal, Sabrina Agius, who still works for the company, also claimed bullying, intimidation and harassment by her superiors during the selection process.

Her superiors’ behaviour was specifically intended to make her resign but she managed to resist, Ms Agius said. Through various conversations she had with people within the company it was clear she was treated differently because of her personal political beliefs and her affiliations with the General Workers’ Union. She requested that the tribunal declares that she was subjected to discriminatory behaviour and to harassment and award her compensation. Lawyer Aron Mifsud Bonnici signed the application.
