For some people, the Catholic Church is fine to run schools and homes for the elderly, to look after the disabled, run orphanages, help feed the poor and look after reforming drug addicts and battered women.

But it should keep its mouth shut and not have a voice or an opinion on anything that goes on in our society.

Is this what our Church has been reduced to?

Get on with your work of charity but shut up?

Everyone has a right to agree or disagree with what she says but, just as the Church is expected to continue its mission in society, it must be allowed to voice its opinion where it feels it should.
