The Rural Festivities Unit within the Parliamentary Secretariat for Agriculture Fisheries and Animal Rights is trans-forming the Għammieri Farm into a Christmas village.

The event will include, among others, live stage entertainment throughout the day with the participation of local junior performers and a roaming band.

Mass will be said at 10am with the participation of the Żurrieq choir and will include the traditional child sermon. Those attending can also visit a cribs exhibition at the chapel at Għammieri.

A Christmas market will offer various food stalls, Christmas delicacies such as imbuljuta, mulled wine, Christmas cakes and mince pies, and other items such as honey, olive oil and chocolate treats. There will also be stalls selling various gifts, toys, Christmas decorations, cribs and poinsiettas. One can also buy the cookery book Tisjir mill-Qalb 2017 published by the Community Chest Fund.

Santa Claus will be present to take photos with children in his workshop. One can take other photos with the animals found at the farm such as the llama, deer and pony. Children can have a close encounter with the farm animals at a petting farm stall.

There will also be storytelling sessions, a bouncing castle, a train, face painting, glitter painting and a magician. Children may also take horse and donkey rides.

The farm will open its doors to the public tomorrow from 9am to 5pm. Entrance is free.
