The Għaqda Il-Milied fix-Xaghra (Christmas in Xagħra Society) is organising a seminar about the tradition of the nativity scene at the Xagħra Youth Centre, 28th April 1688 Street, Xagħra, next Sunday, at 9.30 a.m.

Paul Stellini will demonstrate how to construct and paint features in the Christmas nativity scene, using recycled expanded polystyrene and plaster.

A handout about various designs and studies about the biblical style of crib-building and information about the biblical, archaeology and architecture at the time of Christ’s birth will be given to participants.

The society is celebrating its seventh anniversary this year. Fourteen mechanical and static artistic cribs together with a live nativity scene will be on show in Xagħra during Christmas.

Entrance to the seminar is free. For more information, e-mail miliedxaghra@gmail.com or visit www.xaghraparish.org.
