The historic Valletta Waterfront destination located in the scenic Grand Harbour has taken on a Christmas village feel with a mix of decor, music, food and activities related to this magical time.
Combining food, retail and entertainment outlets within a maritime hub, the small chapel of the Flight to Egypt by the Holy Family further adds to the atmosphere. A Christmas tree over 10 metres high is set up in the central part of the promenade and a variety of free activities are planned underneath the tree and along the whole promenade. These include Christmas bands, children’s choirs, cribs, stalls and more. Santa can also be found in his workshop and together with his helpers will be available for photo opportunities.
As is customary throughout the rest of the year, free children’s entertainment is provided on weekends and public holidays, including balloon modelling, face painting, crafts, games, meet and greets with all-time favourite characters, puppet shows, bouncy castles and more.
Special activities and installations taking place this Christmas include a baubles’ balancing display, a giant gift Tetris, a light-up Rudolph’s nose challenge and a fun candy cane blowing machine.
Some of the upcoming highlights include a concert from the Phyllisienne Brincat Children’s Choir at 8pm on Saturday, giant outdoor games on Sunday from 12.30pm to 4.30pm and Christmas Eve Mass in the Sagrestia Vault at 8.30pm on December 24.
