An exhibition of children’s art highlighting Malta’s cultural heritage and natural environment, titled Malta Through A Child’s Eye – KidzArt Goes Local, is running at St James Cavalier and Pjazza Teatru Rjal in Valletta until January 4.

Simone Stilon, a practising artist and teacher has been running KidzArt, a US-based art programme for children that seeks to teach the fundamentals of art education, problem solving and confidence building through drawing, for the past five years.

The programme was founded by Shell Herman and Chris Cruikshank in 1993 with the intention of making art more accessible to children.

“Our programme offers children an enjoyable art experience and gives them a glimpse of what they can do artistically,” Cruikshank said.

KidzArt offers a non-competitive environment that allows children to relax and take pleasure in their original creations.
