Air Malta has appointed Joshua Zammit as chief officer organisational development. Mr Zammit will be entrusted with building the organisational development function of the airline and developing and implementing modern human resources systems which support the business objectives of the company. He will also be responsible for the cultural transformation within the airline as well as industrial relations and staff development. He will be reporting to Peter Davies, Air Malta’s chief executive.

Mr Zammit has over 14 years experience in organisational development and human resources management both locally and internationally. He has held various appointments in the public and private sectors with his most recent being at Actavis, an international generic pharmaceutical company. Prior to this he has held positions in consultancy and senior management having worked for the Management Systems Unit, the Planning Authority (now Mepa) and MITTS Ltd (now Mita). His international experience spans the US and Europe among others and has led or participated in a number of projects varying from post acquisition integration to leadership development and change management.

Commenting on the appointment Mr Davies said: “Joshua brings with him a wealth of experience after working both in Malta and abroad. He has built a strong track record in implementing a comprehensive programme of organisational change.

“He will lead a cultural transformation of the airline and will be supporting the airline’s senior management to build a customer centric organisation that is able to compete profitably and successfully.”
