You can have your blood glucose levels checked for free this weekend in a national campaign to raise awareness on diabetes.

The campaign, organised by the Malta Medical Students’ Association, mainly revolves around the free testing, which started yesterday and runs through till Monday.

Free glucose testing will be offered today at health centres between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and in front of the courts in Valletta between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tomorrow and Monday, the tests will be conducted at the health centres between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Health Promotion Department will be holding information meetings at the premises of various companies and the Malta Diabetes Association are today holding a public conference at the Excelsior, themed Living With Diabetes – The Way Forward, between 8.30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

On World Diabetes Day, on Monday, the Manoel Theatre, the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Fort Manoel and the War Memorial will be lit in blue, the colour of the symbol, a circle, used to mark diabetes.
